At its meeting on 11 September, TYY’s Board decided to reorganise its operations and adopt a team-based model. Under the new model, instead of working in sector-specific roles, TYY’s Board members and staff will work in the following teams:
- Advocacy and Sustainability Team, covering the former sectors of educational affairs, social affairs, international affairs, environmental affairs, development cooperation, municipal affairs, tutoring, and equality and inclusion.
- Student Culture and Visibility Team, covering the former sectors of student culture, communications, corporate relations, and Satakunta affairs.
- Organisations and Member Services Team, covering the former sectors of organisations and volunteers. The team will also be responsible for chairing the Financial Support Committee.
- Management and Support Services Team, consisting of the Secretary General, Chair and Vice Chair,
and the Financial Secretary.
The team-based model aims to address workload and overburdening, create a more balanced distribution of responsibilities, and prevent siloing within the organisation. The model will be piloted during the autumn, and adjustments will be made based on experiences and observations from day-to-day operations.
