Aprillirock

Kesärauha and TYY revive the Turku student band competition, Aprillirock. The winner of the competition, held on April Fool's Day at Logomo's Teatro hall, will get to perform at Turku's traditional and increasingly popular sTYYlish May Day picnic. The picnic lineup also features Nössö Nova and the annual declaration of "Summer Peace" Kesärauha.

Aprillirock is a band showcase by the Student Union of the University of Turku (TYY) that was held several times in the 2000s, with the winner securing a slot at the TYYlikäs Vappupiknik event. Last held nearly ten years ago, Aprillirock is being brought back this spring through a collaboration between TYY and the Kesärauha festival.

The application form for Aprillirock is open from March 2nd to March 15th, 2026. Artists and student bands from the University of Turku are eligible to apply. Based on the applications, Kesärauha and TYY will select five artists to perform live on Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, at Logomo’s Teatro. The winner will be determined by a professional jury and audience votes. The prize is a 30-minute performance slot at the TYYlikäs Vappupiknik in front of thousands of revelers, right before Nössö Nova. In addition, TYY will pay the winner a performance fee.

Five artists were selected from the application phase to proceed, and all of them will take the stage at Teatro in Logomo on April 1st, starting at 7:00 PM. Check out the performance order below and make sure you don’t miss a single set!

6:30 PM – Doors open at Logomo

7:00 PM–7:15 PM – pistëët

7:25 PM–7:40 PM – Valtuusto

7:50 PM–8:05 PM – Actual Luke X J.O.Silkco.

8:15 PM–8:30 PM – LINNA

8:40 PM–8:55 PM – TYPERÄ TYPERÄ MIES

Approx. 9:15 PM – Winner announcement

Admission to the event is free!
There are free, unattended cloakrooms in the Teatro lobby. (Staffed cloakroom service is available for €3.50.) The lobby bar and Teatro’s own restaurant will be open throughout the event. Entry is directly through Teatro’s main doors. 😊

The winner of Aprillirock is determined by the combined total of jury and audience votes. 

Every attendee has one vote! Upon arrival, you will be given a physical voting ticket to cast your vote.

Additionally, a three-day festival ticket to this summer’s Kesärauha Festival will be raffled among everyone who votes using the official voting slip at the event!!! The raffle winner will be announced at Aprillirock immediately after the winning artist is revealed. NOTE! The raffle winner must be present at Aprillirock to receive their prize in person; otherwise, the prize will be drawn again for someone else.
