The Results of TYY’s Student Union Council Elections Are In

The results of the Student Union of the University of Turku (TYY) Student Union Council elections have been released. The voter turnout was 30.62% (in 2023: 37.37%). A total of 5,045 votes were cast, and there were 240 candidates in the elections.

The top vote-getter was Markus Miilunpalo (TSE list, 112 votes). The largest electoral alliances were Vihreä Vasemmisto (974 votes, 9 seats), TSE list (900 votes, 7 seats), and Fuusio and Soihdunkantajat (both 5 seats). The biggest increase in the number of seats was achieved by Humanistilista (+2 seats).

Altogether, 11 different electoral alliances are represented in TYY’s Student Union Council, and candidates from all lists were elected. There are 13 politically affiliated and 28 independent representatives in total.
