EC2U Student Representative Application Form 2026-2027

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Student Representative for the EC2U Student Council at the University of Turku! Please fill out the following application form to be considered for the position.

What is EC2U?

The European Campus of City-Universities (EC2U) is an alliance that unites nine European universities to promote innovation, mobility, and collaboration. The alliance contributes through 4 main areas of collaboration:

  • Participating in EC2U activities: mentoring students, judging competitions, speaking at events
  • Supporting employability: offering internships, guiding research projects, delivering lectures
  • Scientific collaboration: hosting webinars, joining Virtual Institute activities
  • Building partnerships: networking locally and across Europe, sharing best practices, and exploring funding opportunities

What is the EC2U Student Council?

The EC2U Student Council is the united voice of students across the universities of the EC2U Alliance. Comprising passionate representatives from Coimbra, Iași, Jena, Linz, Pavia, Poitiers, Salamanca, Umeå, and Turku, they champion student interests, foster cross-cultural collaboration, and drive initiatives that embody EC2U’s vision of a borderless European Higher Education Area.

As a student representative, you

  • Represent The University of Turku students in the EC2U Student Council
  • Share the student perspective in alliance-wide discussions and decisions
  • Collaborate with peers from all nine partner universities
  • Participate in EC2U events

EC2U strives to include students in the decision-making processes of the Alliance. It is important the students’ voices are heard and represented in the governing bodies and in the overall strategy of EC2U. As a student rep, you will represent the student community in the governing bodies of the EC2U Alliance by taking part in meeting and events. In this role, you will gather good experience of European higher education collaboration and have to chance to get involved in the EC2U Student Council.

Note. The student representative is expected to be able to work in English, as all meetings, materials, and communication are in English.

 

The position is for the period 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027. The selected student representative may also continue for a second one-year term from 1 October 2027 to 30 September 2028.
