In the election of student representatives to the Academic Appeals Board, attention will be paid, for example, on motivation shown in the application, interest shown towards student rights, on previous experience from associations, from the administration of higher education institutions and from interest promotion, on balanced representation of faculties, departments or subjects and balanced gender distribution in the organ.

Because the Academic Appeals Board uses public power over individual rights and because the administrative language of the University is Finnish, the University requires excellent skill in Finnish from all members of the Academic Appeals Board.
