Dog Croquis
Life and lively drawing on Thursday afternoons!
Croquis (or Finnish krokii) comes from the French word croquer, which means quick drawing. Croquis drawings are usually made from a live model in a limited time, for example 1–10 minutes. When the time runs out, the model changes position. Many drawings are often made in a row.
Bring your own drawing tools and a two-three euro donation for the model.
This time we get to draw a dog, and the artists are expected to be more patient than usual and adapt to the will of the model. Even when drawing a human person, we always go according to the well-being of the model, but now it is even more essential due to the obvious linguistic limitations.
Our model will be Hertta, a dog who is an experienced croquis model and can change poses very quickly. At 1.5 years old, she is calm for her age, a rather large mixed-breed bundle of excitement who loves everyone and everything. Although she would be very happy to receive treats, unfortunately, Hertta can only have her own snacks due to a long list of allergies.
Dog croquis on Thursday 14.11. at 3:15 pm – 4:45 pm and 21.11. at 3:15 pm – 4:45 pm. There is a limited number of people who can draw, so if you want to make sure you can fit in, send a message to jaripiirustaa@gmail.com. Tell in your message which drawing session you are coming to.
The event is part of Turku's academic animal rights society's Perspectives on animal relations - Nummi as an intermediate space for art and research.
