Sustainability week is here!

Next week (9.-13.10.) is sustainability week in TYY. During the week we are organising sustainable development related events and sharing sustainabl development related material on our instagram @studentuniontyy

Monday 9.10. second hand shop appro

Come and tour the flea markets of Turku during the Sustainable development week’s Flea Market Appro!

Flea Market Appro is organized as part of the Sustainable development week on Monday October 9th from 10.00 to 15.00. Enjoy the autumn weather and go on a tour of Turku’s many flea markets alone or with friends.

Pick up your own Appro pass and map from the Flea Market Appro stand in front of Assarin ullakko and go on a tour of the flea markets and second hand shops in the city centre and the surrounding area. Collect at least 4 stamps for a new, fabulous badge at the stand!

Flea markets, vintage and second hand shops offer great, student-budget-friendly finds. Buying second-hand instead of brand new is also a great way to spend more sustainably. We don't want to encourage unnecessary spending, so you can get a stamp from flea markets wheather you find somerhing to buy or not
The stand is open from 9.45 to 12.00 and 14.00-15.00. You don't have to sign up for this event beforehead, just come to get your appro pass from the stand!

Monday 9.10. Annual ball fleamarket

Are you looking for either your own outfit or a rental outfit for an annual ball? Do you have party gowns that you no longer use accumulated in your closet? TYY and KY-KeKe offer the perfect opportunity to recycle your old annual ball clothes and accessories, as well as a chance to find new look for your upcoming party. One man's trash is another man's treasure!

We will organize an Annual Ball Flea Market on Monday, October 9, 2023 in Turku-sali at 10-15. At the Flea Market, you can sell festive clothes that you no longer use (evening dresses, suits, shoes, bags, jewelry, etc.). In addition, you can find two local suit rental shops if you want to rent your Annual Ball outfit. The flea market operates on a self-service flea market principle, which means that sellers do not have to be present themselves, but they can come to sell their own products if they wish.

To sell clothes, you must fill in this form by 8 October. The clothes for the sale can be delivered in advance to the School of Economics on Mon. 2.10. at 14-15.30, Tue. 3.10. at 12-13.30 and Thu. 5.10. at 12-13.30. Upon arrival, the product will be marked with an identification number and price. On the event day, we'll put all the products on display and all you need to do is download the MobilePay app!

At 15.00, the sellers have to come pick up any unsold items.

Come enjoy the atmosphere and make some bargains!
