TYY
Finding ways to calculate TYY`s carbon footprint! In the last few months we have searched ways and compared different calculators that other student unions have used. We have found two possible calculators that could work for TYY as well.
The first environmental council for organisations was held 29.3. The board members responsible for environmental affairs from different organisations discussed "Siisti vappu" campaign and TYY´s environmental projects.
SYL organised a sustainable development -sector day on 11.5. for the student union and TYY`s environmental sector participated! During the day we visited the Ministry of Environment and met SYL alumns, including president Tarja Halonen.
TYY`s environmental wing organised #Siistivappu campaign, where students were encouraged to take better care of environment during the first of May celebrations for example by using resusable cups instead of instead of disposable ones.
Together TYY`s five wings organised a "pre vappu" sitz party. The event was organised environment in mind and for example left over food from Unica restaurants.

Vegetarian restaurant Piccu Maccia
Taking a walk from Turku Cathedral via Piispankatu, you finally find yourself in the area of university of Turku. A little treasure, namely vegetarian restaurant Piccu Maccia is located in Assitentinkatu 5. Between 11.00 to 14.30, from Monday to Thursday, rich Green Buffet or delicious Deli dishes wait or you in our rustic and modern premises. Outside above lunch times, on evenings and weekends, Piccu Maccia can be reserved for your private or company’s occations.
