TYY has Turku-sali for meetings and seminars and the TYY Sauna for free-time events that its members and sub-organisations can reserve.
Many sub-organisations have also facilities that other organisations can rent:
- Osakuntasali (in Finnish)
- The campus chappel can be reserved for non-alcoholic events (reserve by e-mail email@example.com)
Items for rent
You should contact the TYY Specialist in Student Organisations about any questions concerning organisation activity. The Financial Secretary has special expertise in any financial questions. Other TYY employees can help organisations in their own sector: for example, the Specialist in Academic Affairs looks after department council matters of subject associations and the Specialist in International Affairs works in cooperation with ISTU and ESN.
You should never let your questions go unanswered for too long - the TYY staff is always there to help the sub-organisations in any way.

Every year, TYY organises training on organisation activity for its sub-organisations. Traditionally, the all-round training session on the basic topics for the new members of the sub-organisations’ boards is held between January and February. The session includes training for at least the chairs, treasurers, information officers, event coordinators and student paper editors.
Towards the end of the year, at chair and treasurer training, there is orientation, especially on the routines of the budget year end and also the transfer of information.
In addition to the abovementioned issues, the objective is to fulfil future requests of the sub-organisations in regards to training. Ideas can be sent to the Secretary for Student Organisations and PR or the Executive Board member for sub-organisations.
There are also meetings for the sub-organisation chairs arranged four times a year. Up-to-date and practical issues about organisations are discussed at the meetings but above all, the goal is to have these meetings as a place for networking and giving and receiving peer support.
The communication channels below can also be used by sub-organisations. In addition, TYY Specialist for Sub-Organisations and the Communications Officer will be happy to help sub-organisations in communicating bigger events. Communication projects should always be started early.
Tyyali mailing list
Tyyali is TYY’s official mailing list. Information on TYY’s decisions and widely interesting or important current issues with regard to students will be sent to the list. In addition, communications on sub-organisational events can be sent to tyyali mailing list (excluding parties etc.). The Communications Officers of organisations are hoped to forward tyyali messages to their own lists. If you want to have a message of your organisation sent to the tyyali list, please send it to the Communications Officer (firstname.lastname@example.org). TYY online events calendar and sub-organisational pages
Sub-organisations can have a presentation page at TYY’s webpages. If the user ID for adjusting the page is lost, it can be requested from email@example.com. With the user ID, the sub-organisations can update their own events in the online events calendar at TYY webpages.
Turku Student Newspaper
Sub-organisations receive significant discounts for Turku Student Newspaper announcements. Requests and reservations of announcements should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, firstname.lastname@example.org, +358 44 990 0600. Ideas for articles are also very welcome.

Free online events calendars are also made available by several service providers. In addition, the City of Turku also has a free-of-charge association directory. For example, Menovinkit service of the newspaper Turun Sanomat and the Turku calendar of the City are worth looking into.
