Vote in Student Union Council Elections 2021
In the elections for the Student Union Council on 27 October – 3 November 2021, 41 representatives will be chosen among the eligible members of the TYY to the Council of the Student Union of the University of Turku. If you are a member of the Student Union of the University of Turku you can vote with your university user ID.

In TYY Executive Board you make the University of Turku a better place to study
TYY Executive Board is a student’s voice. In the Executive Board, you can influence the learning environment of the University of Turku and build our common student culture and community. In the Board, you work regularly with the university's administration and other key stakeholders to make the University of Turku a better place to study.
Student Union Council will elect the Executive Board 2022 at its meeting on 24 November, 2021. Proposals for the composition of the Board come from the Council Groups. So get in touch with your Council Group and tell them about your interest in working for a better Student Union and the university community.

Welcome to TYY 99th Annual Ball
Every student should experience the Annual Ball at least once during their studies at the University of Turku!
TYY Annual Ball will be celebrated on 13 November 2021 at Rauma.
Transportation from Turku to Rauma and back will be included. The first buss leaves from Studenthouse A (Rehtorinpellonkatu 4A) at 13:30. The second buss leaves at 16:00 and arrives to the gala dinner.
Festivities start with a cocktail party at Rauma Campus, 16:00.
Gala dinner at Juhlahovi, 18:00.
After Party after the gala dinner.
The first buss back to Turku leaves after the gala dinner at 23:00. The second buss leaves at 02:00.
Academic Brunch (silliaamiainen) in Turku on Sunday 14 November 10:00 and onwards. The place will be revealed later to the guests.
The sign-up for the annual ball starts on Friday 22 October at 12:00.


The Student Union of the University of Turku seeks SPECIALIST
The Student Union of the University of Turku seeks SPECIALIST for a full-time open-ended employment relationship. The work begins as soon as possible during this year. We offer you an interesting job within promotion of student interests, internationalism and student world, challenging and wide-ranging work tasks and excellent possibilities to develop your expertise. The duties of the Specialist include international, development cooperation and sustainable development affairs of the Student Union.
The basic pay is 2251,43 euro/month + possible experience and degree extras. Working time is 36,5 hours per week. Employment benefits include partial lunch and free time benefits. The employment is regulated by the collective agreement of Student Unions. We expect that you have excellent written and oral Finnish and good written and oral English.
Free-form applications with CVs should be submitted by 31 Oct 2021 at 23.59 electronically to tyy-paasihteeri@utu.fi. The title of the email should be "call for a specialist in international affairs".

Respond to the student livelihood survey!
We invite you to respond to the student unions’ livelihood survey! This survey will examine students’ livelihood, employment and housing, as well as any changes regarding them. The survey generates relevant and up-to-date information on the financial status of university students across Finland. The survey responses will be utilised for the livelihood survey and in student representation. Your responses are valuable and will contribute to fact-based advocacy. The study is implemented by the Finnish Research Foundation for Studies and Education Otus. one anonymously.
Responses will be processed confidentially, and individual respondents will not be identifiable in the results. Each student union will choose one student among their respondents who will win an S Group gift card valued at 150 euros. It takes about 15 minutes to complete the survey and you can respond until October 31st.
