TYY and organisations plead: "The decision about how teaching is organised in spring does not mean a whole spring of remote teaching"
The spring teaching arrangements were outlined in late October. Many members of the university community understood that the spring semester is mainly studied remotely. The Student Union and organisations cannot interpret the decision so narrowly. The decision of the University's leadership is more detailed and guiding than the guidelines used in the autumn. In our opinion, for the decision to be implemented, Faculties, Departments and teaching staff mustn't translate it more restrictively than its wording.
TYY is looking for Wing members for spring 2021 and calendar year 2021
Wings are a part of the Student Union and their goal is to make the Student Union a better place for everyone. In the Wings, you have the freedom to create new free time activities for students and to take care of students’ interests. The Wings are based on four different themes: development cooperation, environment, equality, and internationality. The application period starts on 30 October and ends on 30 November at 23.59.
An insight into the satisfaction survey responses for international students 2020
In order to better understand the experiences of new international students after reaching Finland in autumn 2020, we conducted a survey. Emphasis was put on TYY’s presence in different events, social media, and its organisations. Altogether 50 answers were received from all three University campuses.
TYY Executive board member Kristaps Kovaļonoks opens the results of the Survey in TYY's blog: "The coronavirus pandemic has changed life as we used to know it and restricted movement such that studying abroad has become a greater challenge than ever before. Despite the difficult circumstances, it is encouraging to see that international student enrolment continues at UTU. While students choose Finland for numerous reasons, a clear trend indicates that students believe Finland’s higher education system to be the finest."

Updated corona guidelines for students and TYY's Organisations
These guidelines specify TYY's event instructions for organisations and students, made during the autumn as there may be a need to temporarily restrict events more, and on the other hand, events can be organised more freely in between. TYY is in constant contact with the authorities and we inform students and organisations about what guidelines will be followed. In addition to these guidelines, we provide guidelines for students to participate in the events and for organisations information package on training the participants.
We have categorised different situations with color codes. Currently, the yellow time guidelines will be followed.
