Registration period for the Academic Year 2020-2021 has begunRegistration period for the Academic Year 2020-2021 begins 1 June 2020 and ends 31 August 2020. All students registered with the University of Turku as attending or non-attending for the Spring semester 2019 and whose study right is still valid in 2020 autumn, will receive information on registration in June. This information will be sent by email to utu.fi email addresses. Registration is done online through Nettiopsu (University enrollment). Please read the instructions on University website. More than half of the students who took part in the survey felt that the corona situation had affected their ability to studyBased on the survey, more than 50% of the respondents felt that the corona situation had a harmful effect on their general ability to study. The corona situation was most negatively affected by the study environment, as almost 70% felt that the corona situation had a harmful effect on their study environment. More than 60% of respondents experienced that study motivation, study routines, and ability to concentrate deteriorated during the exceptional circumstances caused by corona situation. The corona situation is likely to affect study and student life in the semester 2020-2021 as well. With the help of the answers to the survey, TYY does advocacy work to minimise the negative effects. It is important that students are guaranteed adequate tools, facilities and support even in an emergency. University of Turku: Exit Plan for Exceptional Circumstances Caused by CoronavirusThe University's exit planning has to be flexible so that it is also applicable in situations where the restrictions on contact teaching or gatherings and events are also in force in the autumn or into year 2021. Teaching in the next academic year can be partly or largely conducted remotely if the epidemic situation requires it. The University also strives to prepare for an extended suspension of activities or for setting new restrictions.
