THE STUDENT UNION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF TURKU Join us to hear about the Student Union Council Elections 2019The new Student Union Council will start its two-year term in January 2020. The Council is the highest decision-making authority in the Student Union. It decides on what the Student Union will do in each of the two years while in office. It uses this power by determining how much money will be used and for what purposes. Almost ten percent of the students at the University of Turku are international students, but international students are under-represented in the Council of the Student Union. Let's change that! In this event we will share information about the Council elections that will be happening in the beginning of November. This event is for anyone who is even mildly interested in student democracy and student involvement. We will share information on how to vote and how to run as a candidate. We will also be presenting our Council groups and what kind of topics are on their agenda. The event will be held in English. Surplus lunches from local restaurants are distributed at Campus Chapel every ThursdayTYY begins to distribute surplus lunches in cooperation with Fingerroos foundation and university priests. The food is distributed at Campus Chapel on every Thursday at 4 pm. The distribution is open for an hour or until the food is distrubuted, so be early. The surplus lunches are from local Voi Veljet -restaurants. Quality food that would be otherwise wastage. Please bring your own container, for example a small plastic box in which you can carry the food away. The surplus food is distributed refrigerated and the idea is to take it home. You make a favor to the environment and to yourself. The Campus Chapel is located at inner yard of Ylioppilastalo on street level. Today there are around 30 portions to be distributed. Surplus food from restaurants, how easy and delightfully free. ► Read moreTYY seeks student representatives to the university administrationAccording to TYY’s regulation, people with the right to complete a lower university degree, higher university degree, licentiate or doctoral degree, specialist degree in medicine or degree in dental science in the University of Turku are eligible for application.
