Wings are a part of Students Union and their goal is to make the Student Union a better place for everyone. In the Wings you have freedom to create new free time activities for students and to take care of students’ interests. The Wings are based on four different themes: development cooperation, environment, equality and internationality.
We are looking for both chair and regular members. Application period ends 26 November at 23:59.
There will be a Chair as well as five to seven other Executive Board members, each of which has his or her own area of responsibility. The Student Union Council decides the new Executive Board on its meeting on 28 November.
SYL 2017: The vision for higher education to be implemented in an encouraging way, taking the long-term view
The General Assembly of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) considers the goals of the Ministry of Education and Culture’s vision for higher education to be good in the main. However, the Assembly demands that the target is primarily achieved by incentive measures and that in future years, education must be properly invested in.
The General Assembly of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL), representing all of Finland’s close to 132,000 university students, has elected SYL’s 2018 Board. The meeting also decided on next year’s plan of work as well as SYL’s new policy paper. SYL’s President for 2018 is Miika Tiainen, 23, TYY.
The Turku Finnish University Foundations is offering scholarships for the degree students of the University of Turku, who are in the final stages of their studies. The divided sum is approximately 30,000 euros. The amount of each scholarship is 1 000 euros. Application period is from 15 November to 15 December 2017.

This is your opportunity to comment what is working, what is frustrating and what you think of your university experience so far. The target group of this survey is international students: degree students (bachelor, master, PhD) and exchange students.
TYY is organising a Mental Health Awareness Week on week 47, during which TYY’s Equality Wing (former Accessibility Wing) is arranging lots of interesting events. 30 November is the Day of Free Education! Free education is the cornerstone of the Finnish education system. The student movement wants to focus attention on equal opportunities for all students to study in Finnish universities. The hashtag of the campaign is #maksutonkoulutus (or #freeeducation). Share your own thoughts and take part in the discussion!
