Wings are a part of Students Union and their goal is to make the Student Union a better place for everyone. In the Wings you have a freedom to create new free time activities for students and to take care of students’ interests.
The Wings are based on four different themes: development cooperation, environment, equality, and internationality.
Development Cooperation Wing works with TYY’s development cooperation projects. Wings members attend and organise different kinds of development cooperation themed events.
Environmental Wing promotes environmentally friendly procedures among the students. The Wing organises environmental training, communicates about environmental issues and organises events. The Wing is also responsible for realising TYY's environmental programme and for planning its implementation at all levels.
Equality Wing promotes equality and accessibility in the university. Wing organises events and trainings and communicates about accessibility issues.
International Wing promotes actively internationalisation, tolerance, and multiculturalism on campuses. Wing’s most important task is to organise events that bring together students from versatile backgrounds.
We are looking for chairs and regular members. We require motivation and enthusiasm from the applicants as well as the ability to work in a group. Chairs are also expected to have previous experience of wing or organisational field. Previous experience of wing or organising activities is also considered to be beneficial to other applicants, but it is not necessary. You can apply for more than one wing, but only be selected one. You can apply for a spring semester for 2019 or for the whole year 2019. Wing members are required to engage in activities for at least the spring semester. The chair is elected for one year at a time.
Application period starts on 1 November and ends 18 November at 23:59. Applications are sent via TYY website form. TYY Executive Board will decide about Wing members in their meeting on 29 November. We hope the new members can participate in the training event that is organised on 11 December at 16-18.
TYY emphasises the importance of transparency and equality. We hope to get numerous applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds.
