TYY is looking for 0.7 % targets 2019

News | 4.3.2019

The Student Union of the University of Turku  is committed to donating 0.7 % of its operating budget to development cooperation. The amount is divided between two organisations / projects and the amount donated this year is about € 2700 per organisation. TYY is now looking for donation targets for 2019.

The selected projects should take into account the regional balance and focus on the least developed countries. The projects should take into account the most vulnerable groups in society (such as minorities, women, children, people with disabilities, etc.). This year, the focus will be on education, equality and sustainable development, which are in line with Finland's development cooperation guidelines, the priorities of SYL's development cooperation and Agenda2030.

0.7 % of TYY's funds are not used for humanitarian aid as crisis management is not considered preventive and long-term development cooperation.
