Sustainable Development Studies (KEKO) is an optional multidisciplinary Minor for all students of the University of Turku.
KEKO is a unique training program that coaches you into Sustainable Development agent by engaging you into process of creating collective sustainability expertise - together with other students.
Sustainable Development Studies (25 credits) consists of a core course (10 cr.) spanning from September to April, as well as a selection of optional courses (15 cr). The optional courses offer perspectives to sustainability from social and natural sciences, law, humanistic and business angles. The teamwork-based core course immerses students of different disciplines into interdisciplinary research collaboration, integrating the four dimensions of sustainability and providing the skills for advancing sustainability in the working life.
In 2018, we had an honor to be a candidate of Finland for UNESCO Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development 2018.
An application time for the KEKO course 2019-2020 is open from 2nd May until 15th August 2019.
