The University's Language Deed of the Year will be awarded to a person, group, unit or other entity that adapted and significantly advanced the implementation of the Language Policy of the University of Turku. The winning deed can contain different insights into how the language policy and the idea of multilingualism have been promoted at the University of Turku. The deed could have been launched at any time, as long as it still has an effect at the University community. The winner of the Language Deed of the Year receives a prize of €1,500.
The University's Working Group on Language Matters is looking for nominees for the Language Deed of the Year 2018. Send your suggestion and justifications for the nomination by email to email@example.com by Friday, 16 March. The Working Group on Language Matters selects the nominees and the University community can vote for their favourite during the spring. The winner is announced at the University's Opening Carnival in September.
The previous winners of the Language Deed of the Year are Finnish Language Clinic, parallel lingualism at the Student Union, Refugee Help, and International students' visits to an elementary school organised by Päivi Paukku.
