Library's Collection Point for Reservations and Returns - Turku and Rauma

The borrowing of materials for study, teaching and research from the Turku University Library is enabled by an exceptional arrangement. Collection points for reserved material will be opened in the Educarium Library at the Turku Campus on Wednesday 1st April 2020 and for the Teacher Education Library in Rauma on Wednesday 8th April 2020.

New service is address to Turku University members. Please order only the materials you absolutely need for your studies and research. While we strive to make the material available to you as quickly as possible, we currently have a limited operational capacity.

The collection points are in use for the meantime and the service may need to be suspended. We will follow the instructions and regulations of the authorities.

Opening hours and location of the Educarium collection point

Mon-Thu 12-18
 Fri 12-16

The collection point is located at the front of the Educarium building, by the bicycle stands at the entrance. There is no access to the building.

Reserved materials

The material you have reserved through the Volter database can be picked up from the collection point. You can reserve any of the on-self loanable material from all libraries in the Turku Campus. During this exceptional arrangement, you can also reserve available (on-shelf) course books for pick-up.

You can also pick up your reservations that were received before the libraries closed. They have been checked out for you and if you wonder whether you have something to pick up, log into Volter and check if anything has been checked out to you 31.3.2020 or after that.

Materials used only in the library, such as ephemera and pro gradu theses, will not be given as a home loan and reserved materials will not be posted to customers.

Instructions

The material is ready for pick-up when you receive an arrival notification.

Bring a proof of identity with you when you pick up your reservations. If you are in a risk group and cannot handle the pick-up yourself, contact library@utu.fi and arrange to transfer your reservation to another person.
Be sure to follow the instructions provided at the collection point to ensure a safe pick-up for you, other customers, and library staff. Take care of hand hygiene and keep your gloves on.
 

Can I order printed materials if I don´t have a library card?

To reserve a book on the shelf, you will need a library card for the Turku University Library. During this exceptional arrangement, new library cards will only be made for pick-up to University of Turku students and staff. Order your card through the online Library Card Application and choose the Educarium Library as your pick-up location.

Returns

You can return your borrowed materials to the return boxes in front of the Educarium Library 24/7. The materials left in the boxes are kept in closed bags for 48 hours, after which they are returned to shelves. Due to this, It takes two working days for the loans to disappear from your account so no need to worry. There will be no overdue fees while the libraries are closed.

The collection point is open at the hall of library building on Wednesdays at 14 -17 starting 8.4.2020.

Reserved materials

The material you have reserved through the Volter database can be picked up from the collection point. You can reserve any of the on-shelf loanable material in Rauma Education Library. During the exceptional arrangement, you can also reserve available (on-shelf) course books for pick-up.

Instructions

Reservations can be picked up from the library with the ID given on the arrival notification.

Be sure to follow the instructions provided at the collection point to ensure a safe pick-up for you, other customers, and library staff. Take care of hand hygiene and keep your gloves on.

Returns

You can return your borrowed materials in the return box outside the building. Library pesonnel visits library only once a week so please be patient while waiting for your loans to be returned. There will be no overdue fees while the libraries are closed.
