The Student Union of the University of Turku (TYY) nominates Camilla Saari, as 2021 member of the Board of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL). Student Union Council elected Saarinen as a candidate on the meeting on 15 September.
Camilla Saarinen is a 23-year-old law and contemporary history student who dreams of working in the public sector.
“I want to be involved in working for the quality of Finnish higher education. It is essential for Finland's future that everyone has an equal opportunity to receive a quality education. I think SYL is the best place to do this work, ”says Saarinen.
"Especially with such an exceptional year, the Chair of the Board needs to have a skilled team that defends the quality of education and can familiarise and respond to changing situations, no matter in what issue. Camilla is just like that, influential and competent, "says Sofia Engblom, Chair of the Board of TYY.
SYL's chair and board for 2020 will be elected at the general meeting
The National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) elects the chair and board for 2020 on the General Assembly and decides on the union's finances and operations. The General Assembly will be held from 12 to 13 November.
The National Union of University Students in Finland is a student organisation representing 132 000 university students. Student Unions of all Finnish universities are its members. Student Union is a public corporation, governed by the Universities Act.
