The University of Turku Publicum-building, lecture hall Pub2. Address: Assistentinkatu 7
International Solidarity Work Association and TYY Development Cooperation Wing

The debate on extreme poverty needs change. The backside of poverty is always richness, and therefore attention must also be paid to extreme prosperity and to the fact that wealth does not trickle down to the middle class and the poor - anywhere around the globe. How could the problem then be extracted? Would the strengthening of democracy and communality be means of doing so?

These questions are addressed in the seminar organized by the International Solidarity Work Association and the University of Turku Student Union (TYY) development co-operation wing.

Our keynote speaker is professor JAN AART SCHOLTE from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Commentary floors will be heard from:
TEPPO ESKELINEN / The University of Jyväskylä
TOVE SELIN / researcher and activist
Also panel discussion.

The event is free off charge and open for everyone.
