Three higher education institutions in Turku are seeking six floor supervisors for apartments directed at exchange students by Retrodorm (a former retirement home of the City of Turku, www.retrodorm.fi).
Every supervisor is responsible for their floor, in which they live. The task of the floor supervisor is to make sure that the students at the floor comply with the rules and regulations. The duties include working as a contact person for the students of the floor and intervening in case of problems. Regular presence in the floor of responsibility is required of the supervisor, but absences and distribution of responsibility can be arranged with the other floor supervisors. Retrodorm (City of Turku) is responsible for the building and for the leases.
The floor supervisors can stay for free in the rooms at Retrodorm. Every 10 square meter room is equipped with a bed, a desk and a chair, a shelf, a closet and a toilet. Free WI-FI connection is available all around the dorm. Shower, wash room and kitchen are shared. Storage space will also be available. Approximately 16 exchange students and a floor supervisor will live in one floor. The lease of the floor supervisor is one semester.
The requirements for the applicants are responsibility and ability to intervene in case of disturbance. Experience in working with international students is regarded as an asset.
