REGISTRATION WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF TURKU

The registration period for the academic year 2012-2013: 21.5. – 5.9.2012

In order to be officially recorded as a student, all students must register at the university. Registration takes place at Student and Admission Services. All students who have been accepted to study at the university will receive information on registration by post. Only students who are currently registered as attending have the right to take part in examinations and have their credits entered into the study register. If you have questions, please contact Student Register at Student and Admission Services, reg-old [at] lists.utu.fi

A registration fee of 35 euros will be charged for the late registration (for the academic year 2012-2013).

This registration fee must be paid to a different account than the Student Union membership fee. This bank account number is available at Student and Admission Services. The fee will not be charged, if you have been granted the study right for a new degree from your faculty.

FSHS CLINIC IN TURKU IS CLOSED 2.-31. July 2012.

Where to call if our health centre is closed: In the evenings and at weekends contact the emergency service of the City of Turku health centre on (02) 10023 or (02) 2511 008. If you need urgent dental care at weekends contact The Hospital District of Southwest Finland (HDSWF) on (02) 313 1564, appointment from 9. to 10.30. Please note you will have to pay a fee for this service.

Access to our services: As an undergraduate student you can use the services of all of the 15 FSHS health centres. You can also use the services of an FSHS branch health centre if it is located in the town where you study. To see a list of our health centres and branch health centres see under Contact details.

You can use our services even after graduation for as long as your student union membership remains valid. You can check the period of validity in the sticker attached to your student card. The year displayed refers either to the end of the term or the end of the academic year. (For example, 2011-2012 means your membership is valid until the end of July 2012.)

If you are going to continue your studies in the following term/academic year, you can use our services on the basis of your old term/academic year sticker until 31 August. From the beginning of September, however, you must be able to present either a valid term/academic year sticker on your student card or a certificate of attendance from the Student Affairs Office as evidence of you having paid the student union membership fee for the 2012/2013 academic year.
