Mentoring Programme for International Students - Apply now!
Mentoring Programme for International Students 2011
The Mentoring Programme for International Students 2011 is aimed at assisting international students in familiarising themselves with working in Finland. The programme is organised in cooperation between the Career Services, the Student Union and the University of Turku Alumni.
In the Mentoring Programme for International Students, alumni of the University of Turku guide students who are about to graduate from the University. The mentors support and assist students in finding and using their strengths in the labour market. Mentors share their work experience as well as expertise on Finnish work culture with international students. They introduce the student to their own personal networks and contacts which can be valuable for students when they look for work. Mentors can also coach the students in their job searching skills.
An essential part of the Mentoring Programme is familiarizing the students with the Finnish work culture and job seeking. At the beginning of the programme, the students participate in a Working in Finland seminar in which they will learn about issues related to Finnish working life from foreigners’ point of view and, for example, how to write a job application and a CV to a Finnish employer.
