SOHON TORWET SPRING CONCERT 17 APRIL AT SIGYN HALL
It’s time for the annual spring concert of Sohon Torwet, the only, and, according to many, even the best wind orchestra within the University of Turku. This year Sohon Torwet delights the audience with songs from Finland and classical masterpieces from Russia.
The first half of the concert includes for example pieces from Russian composers, Procession of the Nobles by Aleksei Rimski-Korsakov and Russian Sailors Dance by Reinhold Glière. During the first half Torwet also plays beautiful songs by the Finnish composer Oskar Merikanto. The second half of the concert consists of older and newer Finnish(ish) songs, many of them sung by the fantastic singers of the orchestra. And it wouldn’t be a Sohon Torwet -style concert without some surprises included…
The concert will be held on Saturday, the April 17th at Sigyn Hall (Turku Conservatory, Linnankatu 60) at 16.04 sharp.
Tickets: students 6 euro, adults 10 euro
Tickets can be bought in advance from the TYY Office (Yo-talo A) and Sohon Torwet.
