Returning the Starting Package: Important Info

Dear exchange students,

If you have borrowed a starting package and returning it soon, this is very important for you.

The package should be returned to the starting package storage only during the opening hours. Starting package opening hours for the rest of 2009:

November 2009

26.11. Thursday 16-17

December 2009

09.12. Wednesday 11-13
11.12. Friday 11-13

14.12. Monday 11-14
16.12. Wednesday 11-14
18.12. Friday 11-14 (last day to return for cash refund)

Please note that the EU students will always receive refund by bank transfer, never in cash. Only non-EU students can receive cash refunds, as is stated in the starting package rental agreement.

If you are from the EU, you will receive your refund by bank transfer. For this purpose we need your IBAN and SWIFT/BIC code, so please remember to bring them to the starting package storage if you haven't
already! You can write them on your copy of the contract. It’s ‘safer’ and makes the returning process faster! Please do NOT send your bankinfo by email. Any mail containing bank info will be ignored! The last day for non-EU students to return starting packages for a cash refund in  Autumn 2009 is Friday December 18 (please note: TYY service desk, where you must pick up the cash, closes at 1400 hrs!),
because the TYY service desk closes for Christmas and New Year already on December 21st. The service desk opens again on January 04, 2010.

Anything that you received in your package that is missing or damaged when you return the package will result in a deduction from your refund. Check your contract to see what items should be in your package
when you return it! Please read also the “Terms and Conditions of Use” on the reverse side of your contract paper to avoid any confusion! You can choose to replace any missing items yourself (make
sure it matches the item you borrowed) or to take the deduction from your refund, so that the storage can replace the item.

Please remember that all items must be returned clean and dry! If something is dirty or wet, your refund will be less than the whole amount. Deductions for pillows, blankets, and curtains are high, so
please return them clean and dry!

When washing pillows, blankets and curtains, please check for instructions on the item. If there are no instructions, please wash everything at 40 degrees. With pillows and blankets, you can use about
half as much washing detergent as usual. Please use a drier and make sure that everything is completely dry when you return it - we have no place to dry anything at the storage!
