    DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION WEEK STARTED

This spring, the themes for the development cooperation week are minority cultures and young people. Development cooperation week starts Monday, 20 April with the programme ending on 27 April.
The schedule of events (currently in Finnish) is available on the TYY Committee for Development Cooperation webpages at http://org.utu.fi/tyykehy/tapahtumat.html

    STUDENT AFFAIRS ACCOMPLISHMENT COMPETITION 2009

Has your subject organisation actively participated in educational development or found a new way to put student feedback to use? Does your subject organisation keep in close contact with its department or faculty?

Have you gotten to develop a new method for the protection of student interests?

The TYY Student Affairs Accomplishment competition for 2009 is meant for all TYY subject organisations. No one else, first and foremost, handles the protection of students in academic affairs or student-based development of education else outside the student organisation itself.

The accomplishment up for reward in student affairs does not have to be an all-encompassing reform; your student organisation's accomplishment can be none other than just increased communication with the department or faculty. The Student Union wants to support the student organisations with a reward for active development work and coming up with new ideas.

The prize for the competition is one dinner card for the TYY annual ball in November and a one-time free pass for the TYY Sauna. The prize is awarded to the subject organisation.

More information about the competition is available at www.tyy.fi/ajankohtaista/2009/566 (in Finnish) and from Secretary for Academic Affairs, Tomi Nyström at tyy-koposihteeri@utu.fi.
