Three Candidates for TYY Executive Board Chair

The game has begun for the formation of the TYY Executive Board for 2009. Student Union Council groups interviewed candidates at the TYY Sauna on Monday, 1 December.

There are three candidates for Executive Board Chair: Marjaana Hoikkala of Keskustaopiskelijat (students of the Centre Party), Maija Niskala of Kokoomusopiskelijat (students of the Coalition Party) and Jukka Vornanen of Soihdunkantajat (Torchbearers of Contemporary History and Political Science).

With what we know at this time, there are seven candidates that are eligible to become other members of the Executive Board: Tuomas Fonselius of Lex (students of Law), Juha Isotalo of Vihreä lista (Green List), Elias Laitinen of Vihreä vasemmisto (Green Leftists), Laura Mäkelä of Demariopiskelijat (Social Democratic Students of Turku), Vappu Nieminen of Hybridiaani (Hybridi, students of Science), Katrin Puolakainen of Lex and Leila Uotila of Soihdunkantajat.

The Student Union Council will select next year’s Executive Board at its 10 December meeting. One chair and six board members will be selected. Members will be chosen for the TYY Committee and TYY directorates at the same meeting.
