TYY traditionally celebrated getting older with improvisation

The 86 year old journey of TYY was celebrated in a time-honoured atmosphere on Saturday, 15 November.

150 student union members and friends came to the main event at the Turku VPK House where the traditional anniversary speech was given by Turku School of Economics Rector Tapio Reponen. The guests were also entertained by the TYY Choir and improvisation theatre group Improteesi and got to hear a few other speakers say a few words.

After the main event, the celebration continued on till morning at Assarin ulakko and Iskeri Sports Hall. Experiences about the party were then shared at the academic herring breakfast at the TYY sauna on Sunday morning.

Before the main event, many cooperative organisations kept TYY in mind at the cocktail reception. Donations were requested for the Finnish Red Cross disaster fund this year.
