Information Channels

The list of TYY information channels bellow are also for sub-organisations’ use. Moreover, the TYY Secretary for Student Organisations and PR will be glad to help sub-organisations in the PR of bigger events. You should always be on time when handling the distribution of information.

Tyyali, tyy-exchangestudents and tyy-degreestudents

Tyyali is the official Finnish-language TYY e-mail list. The official mailing lists in English are tyy-exchangestudents and tyy-degreestudents, with international exchange and degree students in mind. Information on, for example, TYY decisions and a wide range of interesting and important topics about students are sent to the list. Furthermore, sub-organisations may send their event information to the list.

The aim is to have the information officers from sub-organisations forward tyyali messages to their member lists. If you want to have your organisation’s message sent to the tyyali list, send it first to the Secretary for Student Organisations and PR (tyy-jarjestosihteeri@utu.fi).

For tyy-exchangestudents and tyy-degreestudents, messages should be sent to the Secretary for International Affairs (tyy-kvsihteeri@utu.fi). You can join tyyali through here and tyy-degreestudents through here.

TYY online events calendar and pages for sub-organisations

Every sub-organisation gets a user ID to use for posting their own events on the online events calendar. Also, sub-organisations have their own TYY page where they can give an introduction about themselves. User IDs will be given to the organisations after they have been given advice on how to use the pages.

Turku Student Newspaper info column

The Turku Student Newspaper info column is a free-of-charge service for sub-organisations. Text for the column must be sent to infopalsta@utu.fi no later than the Monday before the day the issue comes out, by 22.00.

Advertising in Turku Student Newspaper

Sub-organisations get reasonable discounts on Turku Student Newspaper advertisements. Contact Editor-in Chief (tyl-paatoimittaja@utu.fi) for questions and to place an advert. You can also send story ideas to Turku Student Newspaper.

Events calendar etc.

There are lots of channels that also offer online events calendar services. Furthermore, the City of Turku has a free-of-charge Association Directory. You should also get to know, for example, the turuntori.com services of Turun Sanomat and the city’s event calendar.
