TYY has 138 different sub-organisations. There are 70 subject associations, 4 student nations and 64 different other organisations. All of the sub-organisations are independently registered organisations. The status of the organisations at TYY is regulated by the Regulation on sub-organisations and financial support (in Finnish).
TYY offers various services to its sub-organisations. This includes, for example, counselling services, financial support, training and items and space for rent. Hopefully you will find the information you need to questions on organisations on these pages. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact the actors in the student organisation sector.
TYY sub-organisations must annually make out a notice. The notice must be submitted to the Specialist in Student Organisations by the end of January. Together with the sub-organisation notice, the organisations, which have previously received activity support, can also apply for an activity support advance.
You can get a notice form at the TYY Office or download them on these pages.
Applying for sub-organisation status
An organisation, whose majority of members are TYY members, can apply for sub-organisation status. The Executive Board can for special pressing reasons grant sub-organisation status to an organisation whose TYY members come to under one half.
The activities of sub-organisation must be aimed at Student Union members and promote their psychological or social objectives. The sub-organisations must take the individual’s rights and goals concerning TYY equality into consideration in all its activities.
The sub-organisation must be registered or be in the process of getting registered. The sub-organisations have the right to apply for TYY activity and project support, use info columns in Turku Student Newspaper and utilise services TYY offers its sub-organisations. An organisation may apply for activity support at the beginning of next calendar year after registration as a TYY sub-organisation.
You can get a the form at the TYY Office or download them on these pages.
